BCET Attracts Dept of Education Official to Beaver County

The "Coming Together for Education" dinner was held last night at Shadow Lakes Country Club from 6pm-8pm with over 170 in attendance. And in a major success, the event was able to attract the attention of the PA Department of Education, which sent, Dr. David Volkman, the Executive Deputy Secretary to be the keynote speaker. Dr. Volkman spoke about the administration's PAsmart proposal, which is an effort to refocus Pennsylvania schools on student preparedness to enter the economy of tomorrow, today. The Beaver County Educational Trust was recently recognized for its transparency with a Gold Seal on the BCET GuideStar Nonprofit Profile! GuideStar is the world’s largest source of information on nonprofit organizations. More than 8 million visitors per year and a network of 200+ partners use GuideStar data to grow support for nonprofits. In order to get the Gold Seal, the Beaver County Educational Trust shared important information with the public using its profile on www.guidestar.org. Now Beaver County community members and potential donors can find in-depth information about the goals, strategies, capabilities, and progress of the BCET on GuideStar. Rotarians Support BCET w/ $1,000 Donation

The BCET was excited to receive a donation from a new donor, Rotary of Beaver. Rotary is a global network of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who come together to make positive, lasting change in communities at home and abroad. The local Beaver chapter is best known for giving away free mattresses to families living in poverty.
