The Story Walks program was added in 2007
to the Beaver County Educational Trusts list of
programs. This seemed like a
natural bridge from the Growing with Books program
to the popular Mini Grant program.

Story Walk is a unique and enjoyable opportunity for children and families to share creative and engaging reading experiences, as well as related art and musical activities, planned and presented by their teachers and funded by grants from the Beaver County Educational Trust.

Each school has its own story theme, with teachers or staff members reading stories to small groups of children. The groups walk from room to room to hear stories or create a craft project or listen to music all related to the basic theme. Participants include not only the children, but moms, dads, grandparents and even younger siblings. Each child who attends, pre-K through grade 4, receives a book to take home. Thus, the Story Walk is an extension of the Growing with Books program.

Deadline for Submission is 10/18/2021
